All housing associations will now have the freedom to choose which code of governance to use to meet the regulatory standards. So what will you choose? Will you stick with what you know - the National Housing Federation Code? Will you choose the Good Governance Standard adopted by the Scottish Housing Regulator? Will you adopt the Combined Code of Corporate Governance? Or will you pick and mix and write your own? All organisations will have to consult with tenants and other stakeholders on which code they adopt.
We have been facilitating discussion on all these codes of governance as part of our governance award programmes for a number of years. If you would like more information please contact me, you can find my details our website www.boardagency.org.uk
